Namdapha and Maguri Beel

Day 1: Dibrugarh to Namdapha National Park (Stop at Miao) Begin your journey in Dibrugarh and drive toward Namdapha National Park, one of India’s largest protected areas, renowned for its unparalleled biodiversity (approx. 8-9 hours). En route, stop at Miao, a quaint town, to explore the Namdapha Interpretation Centre, which offers insights into the park's flora and fauna. Continue your journey through dense forests and scenic routes to reach your accommodation near the park. In the evening, relax amidst the tranquil setting of the Eastern Himalayas and prepare for the next day’s adventures.

Day 2: Namdapha National Park Spend the day exploring Namdapha National Park, home to species like tigers, leopards, clouded leopards, and the elusive red panda. Start with an early morning jungle trek guided by experts, venturing deep into the forest to spot wildlife and unique bird species. Enjoy a packed breakfast amidst nature. The park also offers excellent opportunities for butterfly watching and photographing rare orchids. In the afternoon, embark on a canoe ride along the Noa-Dihing River, which winds through the park, offering breathtaking views and a chance to observe aquatic and terrestrial wildlife. Return to your eco-camp for dinner and share stories around a bonfire.

Day 3: Another Night at Namdapha Dedicate another day to exploring the diverse habitats of Namdapha. Begin with an early hike to one of the park’s watchtowers, which provide panoramic views of the forest canopy and a better chance to observe wildlife in their natural environment. Visit the Deban Forest Camp, a popular spot within the park, and explore nearby villages to learn about the culture of indigenous tribes like the Singpho and Lisu communities. Spend your afternoon trekking to waterfalls hidden deep in the forest and relaxing by natural pools. Wrap up the day with a quiet evening at your accommodation, enjoying the sounds of the jungle.

Day 4: Off to Dibrugarh via Namsai Depart from Namdapha in the morning and drive back to Dibrugarh (approx. 9-10 hours). Stop at Namsai, a peaceful town known for its stunning Golden Pagoda, a magnificent Buddhist temple surrounded by serene gardens and lotus ponds. Take a short tour of the temple complex and learn about its historical and cultural significance. Continue your journey to Dibrugarh, where you can relax and enjoy a warm meal at your hotel or homestay.

Day 5: Dibru-Saikhowa National Park Drive to Dibru-Saikhowa National Park (approx. 1.5 hours) in the morning. This riverine national park is a haven for birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts. Begin with a boat safari through the park’s intricate network of channels and wetlands, spotting species like the white-winged wood duck, Gangetic dolphins, and feral horses. After lunch at a nearby eco-lodge, take a guided trek along designated trails to explore the park’s rich biodiversity further. Spend the evening enjoying the serene ambiance of the park.

Day 6: Maguri Beel and Departure Start the day with a visit to Maguri Beel, a wetland ecosystem adjacent to Dibru-Saikhowa. This spot is famous for its vibrant birdlife, including migratory species like storks, kingfishers, and warblers. Opt for a peaceful boat ride or engage in birdwatching with local guides who share their knowledge of the region's biodiversity. After a leisurely morning, return to Dibrugarh for your departure, taking with you memories of the stunning landscapes and unique wildlife encounters.
