Their itinerary was carefully mapped to showcase the vivid contrasts of the Khasi Hills, guiding them from misty mountain ridges down into deep, vibrant river valleys. The journey began with a trek into the emerald depths of the rainforest to stand before the ancient, living root bridges—a challenging descent that tested their caliber and rewarded them with testaments to time and patience. From the damp forest floors, their path led them down to the border waters of Shnongpdeng, where they spent their days drifting on the liquid glass of the Umngot River, kayaking and cliff-jumping into crystal-clear currents that felt like pure air. On the journey back, they wound through the iconic, pristine lanes of Mawlynnong village, slowing down to match the gentle pace of local life.

But it was their transition into the rustic, interior heart of Nongjrong that became the soul of the itinerary. In a beautiful, off-grid village where life moves to the ancient cycle of the sun, the group stepped completely away from the noise of the modern world to witness a breathtaking sunrise over a literal sea of clouds.
