"My solo trip with Northeast Nook was a real game-changer. When my original plans fell apart, you not only saved my vacation, but also created a journey that matched my love for deep cultural experiences and connecting with local life. From the historical wonders of Sibsagar to the peaceful beauty of Majuli, every moment was a joy. The highlight for me was staying in a local homestay, sharing a traditional Mising meal, and joining a full-day cycling tour that let me fully enjoy the tranquil landscapes and meet the friendly locals. When Sathish Kuppusamy's planned trip to Arunachal was canceled at the last moment, we stepped in to turn a disappointment into an unforgettable journey. We picked him up from Sibsagar and introduced him to the town's rich history, including its ancient monuments and the revered Charaideo Maidam.
After an overnight stop in Jorhat, his true adventure began. He crossed the Brahmaputra by boat to reach the serene island of Majuli. Here, he fully immersed himself in the local culture by staying in a traditional homestay, savoring a delicious Mising meal, and exploring the island on a full-day cycling tour. His journey was enriched by visits to the island's famous Satras, where he witnessed the unique mask-making tradition at Samaguri Satra and felt the spiritual energy of the evening Naam Kirtan at Dakhinpat Satra. Each day ended with beautiful, serene sunsets by the river.
His exploration continued to Dibrugarh, where he discovered the tranquil beauty of Maguri Beel and the heritage of Nam-phake and Tipam-Phake Buddhist temples. Sathish's trip became a testament to the unexpected beauty and resilience of travel in Northeast India, proving that even a last-minute change can lead to the journey of a lifetime.
